When German superstar Lena Meyer-Landrut approached creator Paul Ripke and me about a video shoot, we didn’t know we would only have 48 hours to concept and plan the whole production. She was about to board the plane to LA, and just sent us a message that the original video was bad and we could get her for 10 hours to add a visual layer to her new single ‘Don’t lie to me’. So pretty soon the concept was born that the song is to be reinterpreted as a social commentary about how we all lie to ourselves and our friends on social media. From the concept it was only a short way to making it to one of the first vertical music videos ever.
